Judo is a fun sport, a physical and mental discipline, a martial art form, a recreational activity, a means of self-defense, a fitness program. It is all of these and much more. It is a wonderful sport for boys and girls for not only developing self-confidence, but a sport where the skills learned are transferable to many other sports. More >

June 2009

Congratulations to Wesley Hart who won a gold medal at the Bay Isle Judo Tourney on April 26. Jesse Hart, Naoki Tominaga, Michael Zomora and Billy Zomora showed good effort. At the CCSF Invitational Judo Tournament on May 3, Wesley Hart won a gold medal, and his younger brother, Jesse Hart, won a silver medal.
CYC Judo students are actively participating in our annual giving and awareness campaign entitled The Drive for Discipline, Dedication and Desire. We appreciate your continued support of the CYC Judo Program! Our commitment is to continue to make a difference in young lives.
Judo Athlete of the Month is Arseny Ruev. Arseny’s Judo skills have improved very nicely in a short period of time. He has been working on his falling techniques and is showing good progress. Arseny is also studying his required Judo throws and grappling mat work with a lot of enthusiasm. His efforts have paid off as he was recently promoted to orange belt. His never give-up attitude, enthusiasm and hard-work ethic will most certainly benefit his Judo and his character development. Great Job! Thank you for setting a good example for your peers.
