The CYC dance program features a variety of dance classes for youth. Ballet is the foundation of the CYC program, and thus the majority of classes reflect opportunities with ballet training. Other forms of dance are available in the program as well; however these classes also teach selected standard ballet techniques as part of their curriculum. More > |

The summer may be full of long lazy days for some of us, but not for the Dance Program! July is full of camps, camps and more camps! This month dancers of all ages will be dancing up a storm in our pre-school and youth camps, honing their ballet and jazz techniques, and learning new genres like modern and musical theatre. If you signed up early and are joining us for camp, we look forward to having you be part of the fun! If you missed out this year, remember that spaces are limited and we hope to have you next summer.
We’ll be preparing for fall classes and our 5th annual production of The Nutcracker early this year, so keep your eyes peeled for parent informational meetings happening in August. The Nutcracker will take place on December 5 and 6 this year, but rehearsals start in October, so there is plenty of planning to be done in advance. The annual parent meeting will be held at the Big C restaurant Wednesday August 4.
Dance Student of the Month for July is Natalie Spencer. Natalie is a dedicated and talented dance member, and she consistently puts her best foot forward in class to be a cheerful and enthusiastic learner. Keep up the good work Natalie! |
