The CYC dance program features a variety of dance classes for youth. Ballet is the foundation of the CYC program, and thus the majority of classes reflect opportunities with ballet training. Other forms of dance are available in the program as well; however these classes also teach selected standard ballet techniques as part of their curriculum. More > |

We’re almost in the swing of spring, and that brings Spring Showcase preparations to the Dance Program! Dancers should be bringing home informational handouts regarding our 2010 Spring Showcase that will be held on Saturday, June 5. All dance students are welcome to participate, providing that they hand in the required paperwork. Please contact either Head Instructor Katrena at 671-7070 ext. 216 or Program Director Janice Javier at 671-7070 ext. 228 for further information.
March brought in some changes for our Friday morning classes; similar to the new gymnastics schedule, Friday morning dance classes are now on 8-week sessions, and we are also trying out some new classes such as Magical Movement, Princesses and Pirates, and a Ballet and Tap combination class. This only affects classes held on Friday from 9-11:45 a.m. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we move forward with these changes.
Dance Student of the Month for March is Lucy Lamborn. Lucy has grown up in dance, and she is currently excelling in her Pre-Ballet II class. She has tremendous talent. In addition to her natural abilities, Lucy is a good listener and classmate, always ready to lend a helping hand to both her fellow students and teachers. Great job Lucy!
