The CYC cheerleading program is designed to teach girls of all ages about the sport of cheerleading. Not only does this program offer the girls training in tumbling, stunting, motions, and jumps, but it also provides the girls with values to use for life. Becoming a part of a cheerleading team teaches the girls about teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, desire, leadership, time management, etc. Because this program requires the girls to spend a lot of time together and to rely on each other, this program also places a great emphasis on friendship, trust, and fun. May 2008

Crunch time has begun for most of the cheerleading world. May marks the beginning of cheer team tryouts for our high school CYC members and high school teams around the area. The girls are working hard to perfect every move for their team tryouts that will proceed into June. As girls tryout for various high school squads around the area, CYC would like to wish them “Good Luck!”
CYC Cheerleading will hold its team tryouts from June 30 - July 3. We would like to encourage all girls’ ages 6-14 to come and try out for the CYC Level 1 and 2 teams. No experience is necessary. Just come with an outgoing personality, some energy and if you tumble even better.
Don’t forget that the cheerleading camp registration has begun. You may sign up for camp in the front office. Cheer camps will be held the weeks of June 23 and July 14.
The Cheerleader of the Month is Lilian Campos. Lilian is in the 6-7 cheerleading class. She has been working very hard to improve her skills. Recently, Lilian has perfected her cartwheel and her handstand against the wall. Way to go Lilian! Keep up the good work!

Message: Cheer Tryouts will be held the week of June 30 thru July 3. All levels are encouraged to tryout, as we will once again have Level 1 and Level 2 teams.
