Megan Mullarkey joined the CYC in 2005 as Head Cheer Coach and in 2006 introduced the first-ever CYC Cheerleading Team. After only a few months, Mullarkey led the team to the 2007 USA Cheerleading Junior Level 1 Championship title. Prior to CYC, she was the Varsity Cheerleading Coach at Carondelet High School in Concord , California where she led her team to a second place finish at the 2006 USA Cheerleading Nationals. Her other cheerleading coaching experience included one year head coach stints at Carondelet (junior varsity), Queen of All Saints, St. Mary's Elementary and with the Walnut Creek Marauders.

An accomplished cheerleader herself, Mullarkey spent two years on the Carondelet varsity team and one season on the Sonoma State team.

Mullarkey graduated cum laude from St. Mary's College in June 2007 with a bachelor's degree in liberal and civic studies, and a minor in psychology. In addition to her CYC coaching duties, Mullarkey plans on attending graduate school in the fall of 2007.
