Extra Time at the Big C - July 2007

July 2007 - If you want to ignite your summer workout with some extra sets of tennis, laps in the pool, or spins on the exercise bike, and you need somewhere for the kids to play and learn in a safe and positive environment while you’re doing it, check no further than across the street at the Community Youth Center (CYC).

Throughout the summer CYC is offering 24 weekly sports camps, in addition to its regularly scheduled program classes. Each of the CYC’s sports disciplines has a camp including boxing, wrestling, taekwondo, judo, gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, cheerleading and dance. There are also “Activity & Fitness” camps underway almost every week, a program so popular that many kids have signed up to attend several of them. The Academic Excellence Center even continues the tradition with three camps focusing on science projects, animal encounters, field trips and cultural activities. There is something for everyone.

Each camp runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., five days a week. For working parents, morning drop-off as early as 7 a.m. is available. The camp cost is only $50 to $85 per week depending on which program your child attends. Multi-camp discounts are also available. Reward those good report cards or just reward yourself with some extra time at The Big C this summer. You all deserve it. Take advantage of the opportunity!
