CYC wants to officially introduce you to The Drive for Discipline, Dedication and Desire -- its inaugural Annual Giving and Awareness campaign. 

The Kenneth H. Hofmann Foundation opened CYC in September 1995 to provide a place for the youth of Concord and surrounding communities to thrive in a dynamic, positive environment.  CYC offers 10 after school and weekend sports programs and an academic excellence center for youth ages 3 to 18.  Each year, the Center has grown with 950 active members today.  More than 1,600 different kids participated in CYC programs in 2006.
 
For only $20 a month, kids learn, work and play together in a safe, first-class athletic facility that truly provides a sense of “community” and belonging.  Coaches and program directors work together to develop the child’s athletic ability, but more importantly, to teach the intangibles such as discipline, dedication and desire.  CYC also offers competitive team opportunities for those hoping to excel at a higher level and all programs are offered year-round with extra weekly summer camps.  Family discounts and scholarships are available as there are no financial barriers to join.

CYC Head Taekwondo Coach Ed Austin expressed his role in a special way:

“I think of myself as ‘a landscaper.’  The CYC and its programs are like a garden and the kids are the plants – some garden spots are sandy and don’t get enough sunlight, other areas are weedy and get too much sunshine, and yet others are growing just fine.  My taekwondo kids are all different – some tall and lean, others short and stout, and all from different backgrounds.  But, they come to CYC with a willingness to learn.  My responsibility is to find the right patch of dirt for each kid to grow in!”
